I'll just go ahead and park right next to this cluster of carts with my already-dented-side in. No worries!

Wouldn't even have parked in that LOT with one of my nice cars.

Just because it's a "beater" doesn't mean you should make it look any more shit, IMO.

I kinda miss the hand me down Cavalier I was driving before it was sold. It's nice having a car you don't have to care about and can drive it like you stole it and still keep it legal. There was one time when two people parked like asshats, so I squeezed into the remaining space between them and crawled out the trunk.

Truth.

Trust me, I take pride in all cars. It's spotless inside. When I got it (this summer), I painted the rusted wiper arms, refinished the wheels, had the subframe replaced under recall, replaced the valve cover gasket, the timing cover, the belts, and the oil. I felt it deserved to be rescued, and it looks a ton better than when I got it. It gets washed regularly. But it's a 500 dollar car with a 500 dollar dent, and I don't have to look for a better spot, I can just park next to the carts.

That is the point of a beater... I keep my Summer ride looking clean. All the hours i spend on it is hard work. So in the winter i treat my $400 beater like crap cause i don't need to keep it clean.

Damn michigan roads and salt

Yeah, I'm driving my nice car through this Michigan winter, definitely cringing at the thought of all that salt.

When I still had my car, I would push carts out of the way. Very convenient when the best spot is only empty because some jackass left a shopping cart in it. Of course, I wouldn't touch them unless there was zero chance of hitting another car (curb in front and to the side, for example. Or one time the thing was already on its side and wouldn't roll).

I have to DD my nice car through the entire winter because my beater is a 2001 Carrolla with no TCS, Stability, or ABS. Sadly, my nice car has been subjected to Minnesota winters yearly since 2000.

Yeah, my car has AWD, so it'd be silly to not use it in the winter, haha.

If you'd like to see the toll the winters have taken on my car, look no further.

ugh... My wheels stick out further than the tire too. I live downtown, I parallel park every day. It's impossible to spare them from curb rash.

Maybe we should invest in some curb feelers?
